Stonegate at St. Stephen – Phase II is a 68-unit affordable senior apartment building located just off of Route 38 in Pennsauken, New Jersey. Opening in February 2020, Stonegate at St. Stephen – Phase II serves individuals who are 55 or older. The maximum income for a qualified one-person household is $37,860. The maximum income for a two-person household is $43,260.
The property has 63 one-bedroom and 5 two-bedroom units. Each apartment has a hallway foyer entrance that flows into the kitchen/living room area. Kitchens are equipped with solid wood cabinets with granite countertops, and Energy Star rated refrigerators and dishwashers. There is ample closet space in both the bedrooms and hallway areas. There is solid flooring throughout the units. Bedrooms and living areas also have lighted ceiling fans. The bathrooms are large, featuring tile floors, a linen closet and handicap-accessible walk-in showers.
The building also provides several community spaces for the residents to enjoy time together, including a raised patio off the community room with chairs and tables, a large front porch with ample seating, and a second-floor deck. The first floor features a large multipurpose community room with an attached kitchen, which is where both formal and informal resident and management events are held. This room also is furnished with a large TV and DVD player. Additional community space on the second and third floors include a library/lounge and a game room.
Safety is a priority, and the building is kept secure through a keyless entry system on the main door. In addition, there are security cameras placed strategically throughout the property. Each unit includes an intercom system for residents to confirm their visitor before remotely allowing entry. Our full-time maintenance staff also provides on-call coverage for maintenance emergencies that occur outside of regular business hours.
To ensure that we are able to help our residents meet the challenges of growing older, the Stonegate at St. Stephen – Phase II team includes a part-time Service Coordinator, in addition to a property manager and assistant property manager. The Service Coordinator assists residents in obtaining needed social, psychological, nutritional and medical supports so that they can enjoy the highest quality of life possible. We also sponsor various educational events such as blood pressure screenings, diabetes awareness, vision screenings and health fairs. The Service Coordinator also works with our active senior community to develop recreational programs, including exercise and yoga classes, coloring groups, arts and crafts and other special events.
